If the old coin doesn't have a country name that you can read, you can try visiting Don's World Coin Gallery to look it up. Don's Web site has over 25,000 photos of coins from more than 400 countries, past and present, and his Instant Identifiers page has images of dozens of coins that lack English inscriptions. All the coins in this series catalog for less than $1 US dollar. Completely uncirculated coins, like the coin in the picture, can bring more. A collector might pay $5 to $10 for an uncirculated specimen. Coins dated before 1947 contain 0.091 troy ounces of silver and therefore command a premium over coins after 1946 which are made of copper-nickel.

Not only can you get history and auction data about your coin, you can also work directly with any of our coin experts to get straight answers on what your coins are really worth, if they should be graded, and if an auction is the right place to sell them for as much money as possible.

We are here to answer any and all questions. While we do buy a single rare coin or an entire collection, we may not always be the best person to sell to. In a situation where we feel like there might be a better or more logical buyer, we can refer that person to you free of charge. We are in the business of buying and selling coins because we have a passion for coins and the history they represent. Please give us a chance to share our knowledge with you.
